Prerequisites
The prerequisite for completion of the Bachelor's degree is the completion of faculty-wide courses (philosophy and physical education) and the acquisition of at least 120 credits for study in the main curriculum, 60 credits for study in the minor curriculum and 180 credits for single-subject study.

Course objectives
The oral examination is intended to test the basic knowledge of the history of the Czech lands, Czechoslovakia and general history from the early Middle Ages to the present, as well as the basic orientation in history and the acquisition of the basics of historical work.
Learning outcomes
The exam is designed to demonstrate factual knowledge, knowledge of the literature and basic methodologies of the field. It is also intended to demonstrate the student's ability to discuss a given professional issue in a sophisticated manner, to respond to discussion and to argue substantively, and to apply knowledge of the literature and other sources in professional discussion.
In the unidisciplinary and major curriculum, the state bachelor's examination includes the defence of the thesis.

  • methods and techniques of historical work, basic sources and their editions, history of historiography, institutional support for historical work and research;
  • history of the Middle Ages in the Czech lands and Europe;
  • history of the early modern period of the Czech lands and Europe;
  • modern history (19th and 20th centuries)
  • The examination circuits are published on the website of the Institute of History (Bachelor's studies, state final examination).
