- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the theoretical framework of comparative linguistics as a distinct field of language study. Emphasis is placed on practical work and the analysis of specific linguistic phenomena, comparing their differences based on lexical, grammatical, syntactic, and pragmatic similarities.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will learn to:
- Contrastively analyse linguistic phenomena within a single language
- Compare linguistic phenomena across different languages using translated texts
- Work with lexical, grammatical, syntactic, and pragmatic categories
