- Course objectives
- Educational Gerontology The course introduces activities and education of senior people and care of senior people within large social links and confronts the students with the phenomenon of aging from the gerontological, psychological, sociological and particularly pedagogical point of view. There are discussed the issues of institutional and organizational background for education of seniors as related to the establishing field of educational gerontology. The course provides a detailed discussion and aplication of methods care of senior people.
- Learning outcomes
- Identify social policy trends for the elderly; describe the care system for the elderly; to learn the main features of the concept of active aging; to learn the main features of the concept of age management describe the main features of the stages of aging; propose a method of activating seniors;
- Syllabus
- Geragogy as a discipline of future, aging generation and its needs. Oldness as a individual and social phenomeon, preparation for oldness, withdrawal to pension, function of education in postproductive age, universities of third age, quality of life and activities in postproductive age.
