- Course objectives
- It will offer students an introduction to key issues and a summary of methodology in teaching foreign languages. Students will learn the basic concepts and methodologies of teaching foreign languages. Classes focus on both the determination of objectives and planning issues and programming of the course or lesson plans themselves and therefore the dynamics of class as targets. One of the first objectives will be to understand the basic terminology of didactic discourse in both the Czech Republic and Spain, to understand the interdisciplinary nature of this area of research and interdependence of all actors in the teaching process. Time will be devoted to the problems of teaching foreign languages, their priorities in different historical periods and the status of the teaching of LE in the world today. Emphasis will be placed in the current requirements of the teaching of foreign languages according to the EU (CEFR).
- Learning outcomes
- Students - have a good knowledge and understanding of the specifics of foreign language teaching. - Discuss the theoretical background of Spanish language teaching, compare it with practice and draw their own conclusions. - Based on their knowledge of the principles of foreign language teaching and the different methodological approaches, choose appropriate techniques for specific teaching situations. - set adequate teaching objectives and plan effectively language lessons. - choose adequate didactic resources. - understand the levels of the SERR, PCIC and the relevant curricular documents

- 1. Teaching foreign languages - terminology. 2. Analysis, identification and formulation of the objectives of foreign language teaching. 3. Introduction to different methods of teaching foreign languages. 4. Teaching program planning and teaching process. 5. Common European Framework of Reference and the European Language Portfolio. 6. Language skills and their acquisition. 7. Teaching materials.
