- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to give the student an overview of individual types of Ukrainian folk music, concepts of the theoretical reflections of Ukrainian music folklore and a chronological overview of Ukrainian classical music.
- Learning outcomes
- The student will gain knowledge in forms of Ukrainian folk music and in the developmental trends and personalities of Ukrainian classical music production.

- 3. The phenomenon of the elderly musicians.
- 4. The first collecting effort of Ukrainian folk music.
- 5. Mykola Lysenko as a collector and a musical folklorist.
- 6. Musical-folkloristic theory of Volodymyr Hoshovsky.
- 7. Ukrainian artificial music at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries.
- 8. Mykola Lysenko as a composer.
- 9. Figures of Ukrainian artificial music in 20th century.
