- Course objectives
- The main objective of this subject is to provide students with a basic description of all the geographical dialects of the Catalan language. A panorama of the geolectal variation of Catalan will be offered, within which the territorial demarcation of each dialect will be taken, subdialect and speak, the factors that have conditioned it, and phonetic-phonological, morphological, syntactic and lexical issues that allow to characterize them.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students must be able to:
1. Know what is the dialectology, the objectives and the main characteristics of the discipline.
2. To know the history of dialectology, especially Catalan dialectology.
3. Know how to describe the dialects of Catalan and identify the elements that characterize them.
4. Identify the dialect with which any text in Catalan was built. - Syllabus
