Course objectives
The aim of the Master's state examination is to prove whether a student have reached learning outcomes of the study programme Social Education and Counselling as prescribed by their study plan.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the studies, the graduate is capable of:

1) Respecting the age, individual, and other specific characteristics of individuals/clients in social pedagogical and counseling work.
2) Navigating theories related to the practice of pedagogical, counseling, and social work, and critically analyzing them.
3) Applying ethical principles in helping professions.
4) Managing and developing teams and their human resources.
5) Managing and leading educational and preventive activities in various types of institutions/social environments.
6) Acting in accordance with applicable legislation in both direct and indirect pedagogical and social work.
7) Providing counseling in coping with challenging life situations.
8) Ensuring organizational, methodological, and conceptual work in the creation and implementation of projects.
9) Promoting positive self-education, self-development, and self-reflection.
10) Implementing empirical research in designs appropriate to the research problem.
Syllabus
  • The oral part of the exam is conducted according to question areas.
  • The question areas and individual questions are derived from the learning outcomes of the entire program as well as from the learning outcomes of mandatory and mandatory elective courses.

Teaching methods
Oral exam, defence of Master's thesis in the case of one field (completus) or major study plan.

Assessment by the examination board.
