Přednáška kombinovaná se seminářem je koncipovaná jako základní uvedení do problematiky ikonografie profánního umění. Hlavní pozornost bude věnována vysvětlení základní terminologie, literárním zdrojům a starým ikonografickým příručkám; dále budou probrány charakteristické příklady zpodobnění příběhů čerpajících z řecké a římské mytologie, antické historie, zobrazování abstraktníh pojmů pomocí alegorií, personifikací, symbolů a emblémů. V průběhu semináře každý z účastníků písemně zpracuje, příp. přednese 1 referát.
