Course objectives
The main aim of the seminar is to present an introduction to editing Baroque literary texts and to master basic editing practices in working with the texts of Czech Baroque hymnography. Students will have at the same time the opportunity to cooperate on the edition of Capella regia musicalis (1694) by Václav Holan Rovenský.
Syllabus
  • The students will get acquainted with diverse discussions concerning the way in which to edit Czech literary texts from the postmedieval period and with some specifics of editing work on Baroque song lyrics books. Every student will be obliged to present a transciption of a chosen text, accompanied with comments. After a final discussion there will follow the evaluation of the best works. The choice of text will be specified during the seminars.
