Course objectives
The lecture is going to give an overview of the most important periods of the relation between the European Cinema and Hollywood. It will also analyze the role of the terms European Cinema (associated with an art mode of film production) and Hollywood Cinema (associated with commercial cinema) in the discourses of film production, cultural-political institutions, film historiography and theory, popular journalism, etc. Literatura: Andrew Higson Richard Maltby (eds.): Film Europe and Film America.
