Course objectives
The course informs students about the main features of religious life in India. It focuses on the emergence and the process of formation of Hinduism since the times of Harappa culture up to the modern Neo-hinduist movements. It offers basic overview of basic conceptions of Indian thought, of the Indian pantheon of deities, and of Hinduist ritual life. Attention is devoted also to some non-orthodox religious traditions in India - to Jainism and Buddhism.
