Course objectives
Reading and analysis of selected text, as a rule of Sophokles's Oidipus King.
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to literary work of Sophocles.
  • 2. Sophocless metrum.
  • 3.-12. Reading and interpretation of selected parts of the text (approximately two pages of the text of Teubners edition are interpreted during every lesson): analysis of specific morphological, syntactic, lexical and stylistic phenomena comments of the teacher and papers of the students (mythology of Thebes, development of the Greek drama, Greek tragedy, influence of the ancient tragedy on the European literature).

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Předpokladem k uzavření předmětu kolokviem je aktivní účast studenta v seminářích a úspěšné absolvování písemného testu. Při ústní zkoušce musí student prokázat na vybraném úryvku velmi dobrou schopnost interpretace a správného překladu.
