Course objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce into the linguistic, anthropological, ethnologic and cultural picture of the native inhabitants of Americas.
Syllabus
  • After elementary historical information the general survey of all important native American languages is presented, plus the specifics of their phonology, grammar, lexicon. An integral part of the course is a detailed description of one chosen language. It represents the output from the course.

  • K dispozici je běžně jen populárněnaučná literatura, odborné a vědecké práce s uvedenou tematikou doporuční (a ev. zapůjčí) přednášející.
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Výuka kombinuje přednášky se samostatnou prací studentů, kteří formou seminárních referátů zpracovávají na základě litereatury doporučené )a většinou i zapůjčené) přednášejícím jednotlivé vybrané problémy. Kolokvium probíhá formou pohovoru o látce probrané v přednáškách i referátech.
