Přednáška podává přehled hlavních směrů, představitelů a témat evropského a českého sochařství 19. století.

Styly a přístupy: neoklasicismus, romantismus, realismus - významné osobnosti zejm. francouzského, italského a středoevropského sochařství - výuka a praxe, akademie, výstavy, obchod - témata a úlohy sochařské tvorby - moderní pomníky a jejich politický a společenský kontext
