History and description of Celtic languages.
Syllabus
  • Classification and basic characteristics of Celtic languages. Survey of the Celtic ethnogenesis. Celtic proper names. Extinct Celtic languages (Celtiberian, Gaulish). Modern Celtic languages: Welsh, Breton, Irish, Gaelic (plus Manx, Cornish); their description and sociolinguistic situation.

Ke kolokviu student vypracuje referát na zadané téma (témata budou upřesněna na začátku kursu) a bude schopen charakterizovat vyučujícím vybraný keltský jazyk.
