Course objectives
This course will deal with cultural historical relationships of folklore in the Czech, Slovak and Austrian settings. It will be concerned with the connections between folklore research in Austria and in the Czech and Slovak lands in the Romantic period. Further in the course we will take up folk ballads, which reflect the feudal atmosphere that will be demonstrated with specific examples. This course should also present the literary criticism approach in the field of folk study. The course is also offred to the students of the fields other than thosse the course is directy associated with.
