Course objectives
The subject is focused on phenomenon of croatian post-modernism literatury, which is gradually appear in croatian context since 70th of 20th century. Also nowadays when in literary production predominate neorealism many contemporary authors combine with post-modernism inventory and so is this conception of art in Croatia still alive. In the lectures will be depict the basic atribute of croatian post-modernism in confrontation with avant-garde art. Some of literary scientists this term isnt accepted and used term ars combinatoria (A. Flaker). Besides generally atribute of croatian postmodernism the lectures emphasize selected particularity in individual writing strategies as well. In outline I draw a comparison between croatian and serbian and slovenian authors and students will see wider balkan interliterary connections. Comparison will be apply mainly on authors who used fantastic elements and writing strategies of youngest generation.
Syllabus
  • Post-modern view on world. Post-modernism in literature. Rudiment of post-modernism in croatian literature. The basic attribute a their purpose in post-modern text. Particularity of croatian ars combinatoria. Question of literary tradition in croatian post-modern texts. Metatexts connections. Fragmentation and whole. Themes in croatian post-modern literature a their implementations in texts. Process of writing like a basic problem of post-modern literature. The texts of following authors will be read: P. Pavličić, N. Fabrio, A. Goldstein, D. Ugrešić, G. Tribuson, D. Rešicki, D. Miloš, E. Popović, I. Štiks, B. Radaković and the other.
