Course objectives
The course is a free continuation of the history of the architectury of the 15th century. The creators of he new architecture were both Bramante and Raffaelo Santi. From their architecture some architectural styles (such as mannerist and classicist) were continuated. We will meet also with the history of the french Renaissance and of „northern Renaissance“ in this epoch.

  • 1. The late Renaissance and the mannerism in the architecture. & 2. The classical Renaissance and Bramante. & 3. Raffaelo Santi (1483-1520) and his circle. & 4. Peruzzi and Antonio da Sangallo junior. & 5. The expressive mannerism: Giulio Pippi Romano (1499-1546). & 6. Sebastiano Serlio (1475-1554) and his theoretical works. & 7. Jacopo Tatti - Sansovino (1486-1570) in Venezia. & 8. The classical mannerism and Palladio (1508-1580). & 9. The monumental Renaissance and Michelangelo. & 10. Italy in the 2nd Half of the 16th century. & 11. Giacomo Barozzi da Vignola (1507-1573). & 12. Michelangelos followers on the road to the „protobaroque“ in Rome. & 13. France: the birth of the local „classic“ and Central Europe with its „castle with arcades“. &
