Course objectives
The course concentrates primarily on the period after World War II and addresses the following: definitions of culture and history, a historical fact and the role of the historian, stereotypes of Britishness, national identities, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, ethnic minorities, social class, poverty, old people and youth culture, gender issues, minority groups, developments in education, family, royalty, politics and media.
