Course objectives
The course will be realized in the form of the four insights into the realm of multimedia. Selective lectures will be focused on the developement of the theoretical, technical a aesthetic conceptions reflecting the metamorphosis dynamical relations between music or sound art in general and other types of art in the context of a work of multimedia. Main objective of the course is understanding the span of the notion "multimedia" and its polyvalency.
Syllabus
  • 1. Sound, image, movement - searching for connections between sound and movement. Space as a common medium. 2. Film music on- and off-screen. Spatio-temporal excursus into the world in front of screen as well as behind it. 3. Radio utopias and heterotopias - wire radio, internet radio - historical repeating of the scheme? 4. Lebenswelt as a videoclip? - Mobility of the music (re)production as a birth condition of music video.
