Course objectives
The course is not being taught in a standart form; during consultations the student solves actual problems and answers questions concerning the text, which is prescribed to translation. At the end of this course, students should be able to make a grammatical analysis, a translation and an interpretation of the Greek historiography on a high level (Herodotus, Thukydides).
Syllabus
  • Solving problematic places in Herodot's Historiae, Book I, VII, or in Thucydides's Historiae, Book I, II (the students choose one of these authors on the basis of their individual interests).
