Course objectives
At the end of this course students are able to:
- read and translate a simple medieval Latin text (chronicle, legend, hymn, sequence, epic poetry, legal document, letter, exemplum...)
- comprehend specific features of medieval Latin in its writen form, in morphology and in style

Assessment methods
The course is taught as both lectures and seminars. Credit is awarded for showing the ability to translate a simple medieval Latin text and to comprehend specific features of a medieval document. Oral exam. Attendance is required.
