Course objectives
At the end og this course the student will be able to understand and explain various distinguished elements of the contemporary life in the culture and society today, to argue and use reasoned decisions about the actual problems. The students will be able to comparison the problems with the Czech and European situation.

  • - Nobels Peace Prise, the critic of the criteria and mechanism
  • - Folks traditions in conflict with global world
  • - Norwegian culture scene, the magazines and exchange programmes
  • - Samtiden, Vinduet, Morgenbladet and othe debate magazines
  • - National library in Oslo
  • - Minorities, their presens in the society and culture
  • - Youth - national future and sociology problem

Teaching methods
The seminar is based on methods of presentation, analysis and synthesis of knowledge. It also uses collective work, in-class discussions and individual work of students.
