Course objectives
The aim of the course of this course is the submitting a finished diploma thesis. The finished thesis is accepted for defence by the supervisor and evaluated as “requirements fulfilled”. The graded evaluation is based on the outcome of the defence which proceeds from the opponent’s and supervisor’s thesis reports. Students should be able to apply in their these basic terms of a linguistic and literature discipline concerned to the investigated problematic. When analyzing particular themes, he or she should be able to apply these terms and deduce from the observed phenomena the proper conclusions. Students should be able to justify and bring serious arguments to support his or her thesis. Eventually, he or she will be able to propose a solution in accord with the standard.
Syllabus
  • A written thesis about a chosen topic (linguistics or literature) handed up in Portuguese by 15th December or 30th April, length 140.000 symbols. Following a positive thesis report, the thesis is accepted to its defence.

Teaching methods
Application of theoretical knowledge on exts (recordings). During their presentations students show their ability to interconnect on their own their theoretical knowledge and practical analysis of a specific text.
Assessment methods
