- Course objectives
- Italian literature from late 15th Century till Goldoni.
The course aims at providing a general knowledge of the most renowned authors in Italian literature from the late 15th century till Carlo Goldoni.
Italská literatura od 15. století po Goldoniho. Cílem kurzu je poskytnout přehledné informace týkající se nejvýznamnějších autorů 15. až 18. století. - Syllabus
- You should be familiar with the following authorsm works and topics (to be studied on Ferroni's History of literature or an equivalent): sacred plays; Umanism; Gutenberg's printing method and its influence on books spreading; Angelo Poliziano; Lorenzo de' Medici; Luigi Pulci; Iacopo Sannazzaro; Francesco Colonna; Matteo Maria Boiardo; Ludovico Ariosto; Niccolò Machiavelli; Francesco Guicciardini; Torquato Tasso; Traiano Boccalini; Galileo Galilei; Giordano Bruno; Tommsao Campanella; Baroque poetry; Giambattista Marino; Carlo Gozzi; Carlo Goldoni; Cesare Beccaria. You should also be familiar with ALL the excerpts that were read during lectures and any other author that was eventually dealt with during the course.
