Course objectives

The course aims at providing students with a critical-philological approach to ancient text.

Cílem kurzu je průprava v kritickém čtení starších literárních textů.

Syllabus

• Travel literature. Tuscan medieval translations of Odoricus of Pordenone's Itinerarium and Mauro of Boggibonsi's Il viaggio d'oltramare.

• Odorico da Pordenone, volgarizzamento dell'Itinerarium
• Fra Mauro da Poggibonsi, Il viaggio d'oltramare

Written test and paper (10 pages min.)
