- Course objectives
- Traditional Folklore and Education The course tries to lead students attention to traditional folklore as a part of national culture. It shows the significance of traditional folklore, the spiritual folklore in particular, for education as well as the significance of education for discovering and understanding the protection of traditional folklore. It shows the significance of folklore to education to patriotism. Attention is also paid to regional culture concerning the ethoregions of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The course concentrates on various genres of spiritual folklore taking into account their selection for educational programs. It is oriented at a critical analysis of contemporary students books as far as folklore is concerned. Taking this critical analysis into consideration there is discussed the abuse of folklore in the previous period of totality. The course tries to lead the students to acquire skills of gathering and classifying folklore and skills of working with etnochoreological literature.
