Prerequisites
Second part of the two-semester course of the theory of interactive media. Students will get to know the basic terms of the theory of interactive media, basic methodology and strategies of research of the art of new media.

Course objectives
At the end of the course students will be able to:
Define the basic term from the field of new media art: new, digital and interactive media; relationship of information technology and postmodern culture; relationship of art, technology and media
Explain the relations of conceptual, technologic and cultural area of new media
Summarize findings from the field of theory and aesthetics of art new media and techno-, or cyber- culture

  • 1.) cybernetic paradigm and visual culture
  • 2.) new media; digital-media; interactive media
  • 3.) Hypermedia
  • 4.) hypertext versus narativeness
  • 5.) binary code and interaktivity – concept of interface and the relation human-machine
  • 6.) immersion and experience of existence in the space - technology of virtual or expanded reality
