- Course objectives
- The aim of the course of lectures is to inform students about basic psychoanalytic concepts and their clinical usage and also to demonstrate that psychoanalysis does not end with the work of its founder Sigmund Freud but that it has developed further after his death. In the first part, a survey of psychoanalytic models of psychic functioning and an outline of main trends of psychoanalytic development will be introduced. The second part will focus on psychoanalytic clinical practice, mainly on variations of treatment technique and on possible approaches in the work with patients as it has developed within particular currents in psychoanalysis.
