- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to analyse Slovak folk culture, compare Slovak folk culture with Czech folk culture.
- Syllabus
- Genesis and development of traditional culture of the Slovak ethnic group (Slavic roots, medieval colonization).
- Relationships with the culture of the Hungarians and of neighbouring ethnic groups.
- Cultural development from the 18th to the 20th centuries.
- Lowland and highland types of culture.
- Ethnographic regionalization and differentiation.
- Characteristic features of material, social and spiritual culture of the Slovak people.
