Course objectives
The course focuses on cultural, social, and paralinguistic (non-linguistic) aspects of communication with the Chinese. The course includes practical training in model situation.
At the end of the course students should be able to:
understand the specifics of communication in Chinese cultural environment
apply the knowledge in practical situations

  • 4. meal and eating etiquette
  • 5. cultural problems in communication – symbols, tabu, truth
  • 6. social problems in communication – hierarchz: age, status, gender
