Course objectives
The aim of the course is to teach students to gain information of written and 3-dimensional documents and how to use them in the scientific way in museums. After succesful completion of the course students will get to know basic principles and methods of extracting information and their subsequent elaboration. They will be capable to realize this knowledge within their own research and they will create their own scholarly text on selected theme. Students will identify particular museum documents and analyse their content.
Syllabus
  • Collecting and documentation in terrain. Topography, finding situation, documentation by photo and video, geodesic survey.
  • Documentation in labs. Treating of objects.
  • Registration, work with documentation cards, computer in documentation.
  • Observing, documentation of object in the sphere of monument care, museums in concrete situations.
  • Computers - database systems.
