- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to present to students an orientation in counselling services in the Czech Republic and in demands of counselling work. In the first part, the course deals with individual types of counselling, offer of counselling services in the Czech Republic, demands on a counsellor’s personality and his/her work. At the end of the course, students are able to present demands of counselling work and they have learnt the principles of a counselling interview guidance.

- Course outline: 1. Basic characteristics of counselling and counselling services in the Czech Rep. 2. Counselling process. 3. Directive theories of counselling process guidance (especially the cognitive-behavioural theory). 4. Non-directive theories of counselling process guidance (especially Roger’s theory).
