Course objectives
The aim of the course is to discuss theory and practice of educational diagnostics. After completing the course, students will understand different attitudes to pedagogic diagnostics, their definitions, they will be able to recognise various types of diagnostics, to understand qualitative attitude in pedagogic diagnostics (they will learn about its development, understand conceptions of school evaluation, basis of school evaluation): students will acknowledge the importance of diagnostic measurement in education and will understand quantitative attitudes in pedagogic diagnostics (they will be able to work with scale and scaling, scale forms, they will be familiar with demands for their construction), students will be familiar with pedagogic diagnostic methods. They will (approximately) recognize a child mature for school attendance, select appropriate diagnostic tools in typical educational situations, the will be able to analyze and interpret data received from pedagogic diagnostic methods.
