Course objectives
The course is a workshop of practical translation, where various ancient and medieval Latin texts concerning religion are read, translated and commented upon.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- translate very well Latin texts addressed by the seminars
- translate relatively well an unknown Latin text on religion
- look up or guess specific religious background information necessary for translation of Latin texts on religion

Teaching methods
Workshop of practical translation with commentary (grammar, background information...).
Assessment methods
1) 80% attendance.
2) Home preparation for each class.
3) Written test - practical translation of known and unknown Latin text (use of dictionaries and grammars is allowed).
