Course objectives
The course focuses on methods of media archaelogy research, points out the origins of the discipline and the transformation of media archaelogical concepts in the context of new media in the post-media age, at the turn of the 20th and 21 century. The course objective is to provide interpretation of the media as a discursive object whose nature in the first place is not constant but varies depending on the socio-cultural context and related to it user practices, and which is currently at the time of its creation, technological response / implementation of current social ideas, expectations, etc.
The main objectives of the course:
student will become familiar with the development of media archaelogy research;
get an overview of key methods of discipline;
understand the importance of media research in a broader sociocultural context, including unrealized projects and plans (within the meaning of parallel history of media.
