Course objectives
This course should contribute to a broader understanding the development of electroacoustic music in the world as well as in the home conditions. Students will be acquainted with basic aesthetic and technical problems of EM.

  • 1. Man, music, machine 2. Order, chaos, number - from antique until today 3. History of the music automata 4. Busoni as a prophet and the fascination by a machine – Marinetti, Russolo, Pratella 5. Electronic music studios – Paris, Cologne, Milano etc. 6. Forefathers of EM – E. Varése, Ch. Ives, 7. Darmstadt - Boulez, Stockhausen, Nono, Xenakis 8. Music in space – space in music 9. Multimedia – from Skrjabin to DVD-ROM 10. Music cans – history of the sound recording and reproduction 11. Computer music, MIDI 12. Technical means of the individual music reception
