- Course objectives
- At the end of the course student should:
know basic concepts and problems in psychology of religion;
be able to approach religion from the psychological (scientific) point of view;
know key figures and theories in psychology of religion;
be able to analyse religious phenomena from the standpoint of psychology of religion
be able to find testeable hypotheses in the field of religion - Syllabus
- 1. Introduction to psychology of religion, classification of psychologic disciplines, basic concepts and problems od psychology of religion
- 2. History of psychology of religion
- 3. Methods, experiment, applications
- 4. Mind, cognition and religious ideas
- 5. Problem of the Consciousness concept, ,altered states of consciousness, Mysticism
- 6. Behavior, religious and ritual practics
- 7. Experiences and Emotions
- 8. Body and embodiment, extended cognition
- 9. Devlopment, attachment theory
- 10. Personality, religiosity, spirituality
- 11. Changes, initiation, conversion
- 12. Social-psychology approach, social interactions, prosociality
- 13. Final seminar concerning semestral papers
