- Course objectives
- Survey of Bulgarian literature after 1945 up to present times. Lecture pays attention to all evolutionary trends, present in Bulgarian literature in second half of 20th century, starting with dogmatic tendentious bound literature, to influence of which gave in also some of significant authors of pre-war era, follows the novel bloom in the periods of political climate warming, new tendencies of the poetry and especially new wave in prose is emphasized, present in Bulgaria since sixties, reverberating also in drama. At the end the lecture brings the survey of the newest Bulgarian literary production. After absolving the student would be capable to analyze styles and flows of modern Bulgarian literature.

- Literary life after 1944 – overall survey, literary dogmatism, bloom of novel
- Warming in political climate and its impact to the literature. Bloom in memoirs.
- New poetical wave.
- Historical prose, science-fiction (marginally), detective novel (marginally).
- Literature in Bulgarian regions.
- Poetry bloom taking place in sixties, its evolution within the end of eighties, brief survey of poetical production in nineties.
- New wave in prose – characteristics: J.Radičkov, N. Chajtov, I. Petrov, G. Markov, P. Vežinov, B. Rajnov, A. Guljaški, B. Dimitrova.
- Lyrical drama.
- Satire (Radičkov, Stratiev). Evolution in literary history and criticism. Prose in eighties and nineties in 20th century, brief survey.

- Subject is taught thru the lecture and seminar.Seminars are based on regular reading of works of new Bulgarian literature and its analyses within the framework of seminar.

- Prerequisites for granting the credit: regular attendance and thorough home preparation on weekly basis, participation in class discussion. Subject is completed thru oral exam.
