Course objectives
After completing the course students will be acquainted with the methods of scientific work in the Brno branch of the Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i., as well as its environment. Students will be able to describe the preparation and realization of a research project. Students will be able to identify the methods of research. They will be able to write a scientific text better (research report with specifications given by the research project).
Syllabus
  • Getting acquainted with the Institute of Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, v. v. i. Presentation of a research project with the specification of questions to be dealt with. Involvement of students in a research project, getting acquainted with research methods and source base. Realization of the research in selected archives in the form of bibliographical search of school and municipal chronicles in order to collect ethnographic information. Writing a research report under the direction of the lecturer.
