- Course objectives
- The philosophical aim of the seminar is to show in primary texts a development of Plato`s political thought and to emphasize its similarities and distinctions with regard to Aristotle`s political conception.
The following books will be read: Plato`s The Republic and Laws and Aristotle`s Politics.
Together with this goal we will practise the art of the spoken prezentation of a given problem. It will run in the form of about 30 minutes long lectures.
After the completion of the course, students should be able to explain main topics of Plato's and Aristotle's political thinking.
Further, they will be able to judge the quality of spoken prezentation. - Syllabus

- Teaching methods
- Homework (reading) and prezentations in classes.
- Assessment methods
- The seminar is focused on reading of chosen texts and their prezentations in the classes. The written preparation is demanded for each lesson.
The condition for gaining the credit is completion of assignments for each lesson. Further at least one prezentation on a chosen problem is necessary for the gaining of credits. The participation in the course is obligatory and forms a part of classification. - Language of instruction
