Course objectives
Students are going to get acquainted with the author John Climacus. The personality and literary activity of this author seventh century who strongly influenced the monastic and lay asceticism in the East but also in the West will be presented through work with the text. Climacus’ writings will be placed in literary and cultural context in general.
