Course objectives
The course is focused on the questions of contemporary Slovak stylistics – its relation to the individual language levels, stylictical using of language and non–language means, stratification of contemporary Slovak and choice of communication code, literary and colloquial language, written and spoken language, communication strageties, stylistical formation factors, classification of function styles and composition of texts. The part of course is comparative point of view of Czech and Slovak stylistics, question of reciprocal influence of Czech and Slovak, problematics of bohemisms.

  • 2. Basic Slovak conceptions of stylistics, their delimitation of notion style
  • 3. Classification and description of styles
  • 4. Development tendences in the system of contemporary Slovak styles
  • 5. Definition of basic notions from the branch of language culture
  • 6. Language norms, codification and usage
