- Course objectives
- The principal aim of this course is to provide the students with a rudimentary orientation about topics relevant to the discipline of Applied Linguistics. The course will explore language as a tool for communication and as an object of enquiry and discussion in a broad range of socio-cultural contexts.

- Discussion of the topics in the classroom.
- Assessment methods
- During the semester, students are required to pre-read the selected chapters from the Routledge Handbook of Applied Linguistics and to participate in the discussion of the topics in the classroom. The students will prepare a final presentation on a more specific topic related to Applied Linguistics.
