- At the end of the course students should be able to: interpretating literary texts (reading, understanding and explaining) - make deductions about depiction of Love and Death in these texts - answer questions - discuss about texts

- Introdoctury seminar - Love, Death and aesthetics, Ancient Greece and Rome (mythology, Plato, Aristotle, Plutarch, Cicero ...), typology of Love and Death in literature, Scheler´s concept Ordo amoris HÖLDERLIN: influence of ancient Grece (Sophocles, Heraclitus, Empedocles, Plato, dionysian concept ...) and german philosophy and literature theory (Schiller, Fichte, Hegel, Schelling), epistolary novel Hyperion, drama The Death of Empedocles, selected Poems, Essays and letters - writing on poetic theory a philosophical matters RILKE: philosophy of Death, concept of intransitive Love (non-interpersonal relationship), mysticism, gnosticism, role of the Poet and Artist, Works: The Lay of the Love and Death of Cornet Christoph Rilke, Stories of God, The Notebooks of Malte Laurids Brigge, The Book of Hours, Duino Elegies, Sonnets to Orpheus, letters and essays INGEBORG BACHMANN: her reception of existencial philosophy, status of woman in modern society, self identification as woman vs man (f.e. relationship with Max Frisch, P.
