Course objectives
At the end of this course the students should be able to be acquainted with: • the main technologies of greek and roman painting and his categories • analysis of principal types of parietal decoration - megalographies and impressionistic motifs of nature • the parallels and associations with temporary style and sculpture restpectively .problemas of the visibility and possibles combinations of scenes into one picture . the explanation and interprretation of the main mythological compositions . evolution of category of portraits of Fajjum

  • Subjects of the lessons (ten 2-hour lessons): 1. The main categories of greek and roman painting 2. the 2nd pompeian style and illusive architectures 3. Megalography of the Villa dei mysteri, explanations and interpretation of G. Sauron 4. Impressionism in roman painting 5. Style of contemporary paintings and sculptures 6. Myths in paintings and mosaïcs 7. Compositions of paintings - theory of "Art memory theatre" 8. Mythus and complexity of his visibility 9. Roman houses in Zeugma on Euphrates parietal decoration and mosaics 10. Funeral portraits of Fajjum
