Course objectives
The aim of the course is to use the acquired knowledge of the Classical Greek normative grammar while reading the Ancient Greek text (Aristoteles's De re poetica) which is prescribed to translation. At the end of this course, students will be able to make the grammatical analysis, translate and interpret Aristoteles's De re poetica on a high level.
Syllabus
  • Grammatical analysis, a translation and an interpretation of the Aristoteles's text. Analysis of the problematic places in Aristoteles's De re poetica.

Teaching methods
The course is not being taught in the standart form; during consultations the student solves the actual problems and answers questions concerning the text, which is prescribed to translation.
Assessment methods
Credits are awarded for passing an oral exam, where student has to demonstrate his/her ability to analyze and interpret a part of the text which is prescribed for translation.
