- Course objectives
- Philosophy of the turn of 19/20th centuries: Positivism, Neo-kantian philosophy, Irrationalism, Marxism, Phenomenology. The goal is to understand the given philosophical ideas and their argumentation methods.

- 1. Positivism (Comte, Mill, Spencer) 2. W. Dilthey 3. Neo-kantians 4. Kirkegaard 5. Schopenhauer 6. Nietzsche 7. Marx and Marxism 8. Husserl and Phenomenology 9. Pragmatism 10. Analytic philosophy 11. Basic branches of French philosophy of 20th century.

- Lecture an dtudy at home.
- Assessment methods
- Colloquium requires two written seminar papers based on two books by authors of different philosophical schools of the era. Colloquium consists of written test based on the lectured and assigned work. It is aimed az testing the student´s insight in the work of the main representatives of the schorarly discourse, and at checking the student´s ability to connect relevant facts into logical relations.
