Course objectives
After completing the course, students will be able to:
Understand the situation of today´s school psychology in the Czech Republic
Describe the possibilities of using psychological knowledge at school
State methods and techniques used in school psychology
Suggest the solutions of problem situations the school psychologist can meet with
Syllabus
  • History of school psychology, actual situation in the Czech Republic
  • Position of school psychologist at school
  • Contents of the school psychologist´s work
  • Examples of practice (psychodiagnostics – career choosing, sociometry, projective techniques; class groups; individual consultations)

Lectures, work in groups, discussions, case studies
Assessment methods
To complete the course students will need to have 80% attendance in the course, prepare at home for each lesson and pass the final test which will focus on the understanding of the school psychology issues.
