Course objectives
After finishing the course the students will be able to:
- acquire the complex of the forms ready for publishing;
- process the text to the forms ready for publishing;
- to write an editors commentary (note);
- according to requirements complete the critical apparatus by the vocabulary book and the explanatory notes;
- to proofread the text and approve the proof before the publication.
In the seminar the students work with a particular text which is supposed to be processed to the form ready for publishing.
The aim of the course is to enable the students to choose and process an authentic text intended for publication.
Syllabus
  • First of all the basic text will be identified from the whole set of source texts. This text will susequently compared with all the source texts and all the differences will be marked and described. The final text will be finalised for publishing, a detailed editors note included. The finished text will be offered for publishing to a chosen publishing house.

Teaching methods
The seminar is based on methods of presentation, application, collective and individual work of students.
Assessment methods
The students will be given the credit for their active cooperation on the text proceeding and on writing the editors note.
